2 Yard Manual Skein Winder

This 2 yard circumference skein winder (aka hank winder or skeiner) has ball bearing movement so it spins easily, and smoothly. The winder is constructed of very high grade solid birch plywood. This makes this winder very solid and heavy. The large rubber feet keep the winder firmly in place upon your table. The high grade plastic handle rotates providing a firm, comfortable grip.

Using the ergonomic plastic knobs the arms can be adjusted to produce skeins of varying circumferences. This winder is adjustable from 36 inches (1 yard) to up 89 inches (almost 2½ yards). The arms have markings burned into the wood, for 1 yard, 1½ yards, and 2 yards.

The curved fingers and heavy gauge stainless steel yarn guide keep your skein compact and tight, and saves your hands from painful yarn burn. The starting clip holds the end of your yarn while you start winding. No need to tie the yarn to the arm.

Note that our yarn winders do not include revolution counters. We feel that an actual yardage (or footage) counter is more reliable and produces more accurate results. We will be offering an electronic digital counter at an affordable price in the near future. In the mean time very nice yardage counters are available from Schacht, Leclerc, Nancy's Knit Knacks, and Babe's Fiber Garden.
